About Carl Schultz

Carl Schultz
United States Air Force
1955 - 1959
Airman 1st Class
Carl Schultz's extraordinary journey began in 1955 when he enlisted in the United States Air Force shortly after graduating high school. Stationed at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio, Carl served as a draftsman with the Air Research and Development Command during a pivotal era—the dawn of the space age and the rise of electronic warfare systems.
By the time Carl received his honorable discharge in 1959, he had married his high school sweetheart, Isabelle, and returned to Michigan with the first three of their four sons. During his service, he built a solid foundation in drafting, engineering, and interpersonal skills—tools that would prove invaluable throughout his career.
In 1967, Carl founded Sealant Equipment and Engineering, Inc., a company specializing in designing and manufacturing custom precision dispensing systems that supported some of the most cutting-edge military and aerospace innovations, from the Minuteman missile program and B-2 Stealth Bomber to Stealth fighters, NASA's Space Shuttle, Navy sonar buoys, and armored Humvees.
After 45 years as a successful, family-run business based in Plymouth, Michigan, the company was acquired by the Nordson Corporation.
