1994 - 2001

​

​After graduation from the Naval Academy, he completed additional training in Newport, Rhode Island.  He served as a Surface Warfare Officer on the USS Valley Forge, which was based in San Diego. After his tour on the Valley Forge, he became a Navy Gunfire Liason Officer and was embedded with the Marine Corps at Camp Pendleton. He completed his service as the Navy ROTC leader/instructor at the Maritime Academy in Traverse City.
